Great Lakes Aquatic Habitat Network and Fund Grassroots Symposium Registration Closes Soon!

The annual symposium for GLAHNF grantees and other grassroots activists will focus on aquatic habitat issues such as wetlands and factory farms, skills development such as fundraising and communications, and recharging ourselves for our work. Meetings will include a grassroots grantee panel, keynote speaker, workshops, networking, recreation, good food, and opportunities to learn from other activists doing similar work. Wisconsin Water Policy Database Debuts

Be sure to visit www.aqua.wisc.edu/waterpolicy soon to view the new Wisconsin Water Policies Inventory (WWPI). The WWPI, which made its debut early this summer, is a new web-based tool that is available to citizens to research Wisconsin’s major policies pertaining to water. For easy browsing, policies are organized by categories including: watersheds and components, unique waters, water allocation and use, water quality, and state agency management activities. Specific issues may be also found by freely searching the inventory with keywords.

This national symposium and optional field seminar, held along the Central Flyway, is designed to help build the capacity of states, local governments, federal agencies, and others to help monitor, assess, protect and restore wetlands of international significance.
