The Wisconsin Wetlands Association and numerous partners are coordinating wetland restoration workshops for landowners this year. The first workshop is a two-part event, scheduled for May 4-5 and July 13-14 in the Lake Michigan coastal county of Ozaukee. The workshops will provide hands-on tools and experience for landowners interested in restoring wetland acres. The restoration objective is to simulate original conditions in the wetland sites, including hydrology, soils, and vegetation as closely as possible using simple and complex techniques to reverse the damages and impacts to each wetland. Partners on the workshop include Wisconsin Waterfowl Association, Riveredge Nature Center, the Wisconsin DNR and US Fish and Wildlife Service.
