Sample Great Lakes Connecting Communities Flyer

You may have already seen this flyer because it was created especially for the Connecting Communities campaign during the winter of 2004-05 by the Great Lakes Aquatic Habitat Network and Fund (GLAHNF.) We've included a high-resolution JPEG version of the flyer (front and back) for your reference or to print out and distribute in your community.

The Flyer in Brief

The Great Lakes Connecting Communities flyer was designed specifically for GLAHNF groups to use in their communities. The flyer was written and designed by GLAHNF in partnership with Biodiversity Project.

  • Goals: An attractive flyer or handout that GLAHNF groups throughout the basin could use to explain the benefits of protecting the Great Lakes and their related-surrounding aquatic habitat.
  • Audiences: The flyer was designed for GLAHNF groups to use, but the target audiences were community leaders and decision makers, such as city council members, developers, and others that might not fully understand the connection and responsibility every community in the Great Lakes basin has for the health of the lakes.
  • Distribution: Thousands of flyers were distributed through the GLAHNF newsletter and to groups working on Great Lakes issues in the US and Canada. Distribution to the local target audience was left up to the recipient groups.
  • Outcome: Uncertain at this time. The flyers are too new to fully evaluate, we expect to receive more feedback from Toolbox user-groups on this particular item.
